The Canada-Newfoundland & Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) is the federal-provincial agency responsible for the regulation of petroleum activities in the Newfoundland offshore area, including administration of exploration and production rights; assessment and conservation of resources; safety of operations and protection of the environment; evaluation and approval of industrial and employment benefits plans.
